Linear footage sets the baseline, but four decisions move a project within its range — and usually across it.

Tall cabinets. An 84-to-96-inch utility or pantry tower runs roughly double a base cabinet of the same width. Two towers in a laundry room move that project more than the rest of the run combined.

Door construction. Inset carries a meaningful premium over full overlay, because the door sits inside the frame and a 1/16-inch reveal has to hold across the run through a full seasonal cycle. That's tolerance work, and tolerance work is time.

Finish system. A catalyzed 2K polyurethane costs more to spray and cure than a pre-catalyzed lacquer, and buys chemical and UV resistance that matters in a laundry room, a bathroom, or any room with a west-facing window.

What's Included — and What Isn't

Every quote includes design consultation, full field measure, dimensioned shop drawings and elevations, fabrication, finishing, delivery, installation, and final adjustment after the punch walk.

Not included: countertops, plumbing and electrical work, flooring, drywall repair or paint, and appliances. We coordinate those trades and detail our casework to receive them, but they're quoted separately — and a competing bid that appears to cover them for less is usually excluding them without saying so. Ask any bidder to put their scope boundary in writing.

Permits. Where required, permit fees are billed at cost. In Chandler, interior finish work like cabinets and countertops is generally permit-exempt; adding a sink or a new circuit triggers one, and minor residential permits typically run under a few hundred dollars.

Existing site conditions. Field measure occasionally turns up a floor or wall outside the tolerance casework can absorb. Maple Cabinets

White Oak Cabinets

It carries the highest tangential shrinkage of the six at 10.5%, against 5.6% radial for a T/R of 1.9, which is exactly why rift-cut is worth paying for: quartering the log cuts the movement roughly in half and eliminates cathedraling in the bargain.

Walnut Cabinets

Walnut is the most dimensionally uniform hardwood on our list — 5.5% radial against 7.8% tangential, a T/R ratio of 1.4, the lowest of the six — meaning it moves closer to evenly in both directions and cups less across a wide slab. At 1010 lbf it's softer than oak or maple, which is a real consideration on base doors, and most commercial walnut is steam-treated to darken the sapwood toward the heartwood color.

Cherry Cabinets

Custom Cabinet Features That Improve Form, Function & Storage

Soft-Close Hinges
